Well Seawolves, it’s that time of year again. No, I don’t mean spring fever, I don’t mean March Madness—and I don’t mean that infamous medical condition, Midterm Madness™, (which science has proven affects 1 out of every 5 seawolves.) No—I’m talking about pride and spirit. I’m talking about settling a score. I’m talking about Mascot Madness.
That’s right—the beginning of March has brought with it the start of the Second Annual SUNY Mascot Madness competition, which is a contest in which 44 participating SUNY mascots battle it out for the title of “New York’s favorite mascot.” Here’s the catch: in order to claim that title, students need to submit the most votes for their respective mascot. And last year, of course, dare I remind you, Stony Brook University’s beloved Wolfie lost—in the championship round, no less—to SUNY New Paltz’s “Hugo.” (Too soon? Too soon.)
That was then, though. This is now. As the SUNY blog notes: our mascots cheer for us, so why not cheer for them, too? This post goes out to SUNY Mascot Madness—to all you Seawolves out there, head on over to (http://blog.suny.edu/2014/03/suny-mascot-madness-2014-round-1/) to vote for Wolfie! Round 1 ends Tuesday, March 18th, at 4:00PM. What are you waiting for? Get voting!
