#214: Getting Involved and Gaining a Voice

Each year, the office of Student Activities hosts the Involvement Fair, where various clubs and organizations set up tables to let the student body learn what they’re all about, and hopefully recruit a few new members.  With over 300 active clubs and organizations on campus, the fair makes the Academic Mall an awesome market for some one-stop involvement shopping!

Since this year is an election year, the Stony Brook College Democrats gave students the opportunity to register to vote by handing out voter registration forms during last Wednesday’s 2012 Involvement Fair.

Are YOU registered?

Bill D., a freshman engineering student, thinks that the convenience of having the registration forms right in the middle of all the action made the Involvement Fair even more awesome:

“I’d been meaning to register to vote, and I can’t believe that the forms pretty much landed in my lap.  Being able to register right on the spot like that made it much easier than having to search around and register on my own.”

Getting involved and gaining a voice at this year’s election – now that’s pretty awesome!
