#211: Marching Forward

September 11th, 2001, was a dark day in American history and for Stony Brook University; 21 beloved alumni were lost on that tragic day. The campus community gathers annually at the Memorial Grove at the SAC Bus Loop to commemorate the victims and shine light on a better future. This ceremony is always heartfelt, yet one of the most important moments for Alina LaTouche and Juan Martinez, members of the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band, came 3 weeks ago during Band Camp. Alina, a senior, and Juan, a freshman, did not know each other beyond being in the band. Now, fate has brought them together to help each other deal with their experiences and make the best of their time at Stony Brook.
