While most of Stony Brook is off enjoying summer vacation, the Stony Brook Mens Baseball Team is working hard and making history in the NCAA Baseball Championship Tournament. The Tournament started off with 64 extremely talented teams, and because SBU won the America East Conference, they were given a spot in the tournament. While much of the nation wrote off SBU Baseball, the Seawolves won the Coral Gables Regional on Monday as the number 4 seed. They are now one of 16 teams left in the tournament boasting an incredible 50 wins and the best winning percentage in the nation! The Seawolves will face the LSU Tigers in the Super Regional round.
But that’s not all! Yesterday was also the opening of the MLB Draft, and the good times continued. Two of our very own Seawolves were drafted to the San Diego Padres (Travis Jankowski) and Texas Rangers (Patrick Cantwell).
