#49: The Simons Center

The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics was opened for classes in the Spring Semester of 2011. This incredible structure is attached to the Math Tower and close to the Physics Building. Kevin S. thinks that “the Simons Center is AWESOME” and he is right! The Simons Center, home to lots of math and science classes, is full of cool art and not only beautiful but also functional architecture. An example is the “4,000 gallon rainwater tank is connected to the roof drains of the building to collect water that will be used to flush toilets and irrigate plants on the site”. Check out more about the center’s sustainability efforts here. The Simons Center is also home to the Simons Center Cafe which serves organic French, Italian, and American cusines. Yum.
